Offfered during our Sunday 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses, children up to 12 years of age (children younger than 6, parent/sibling supervision suggested)* are invited and blessed by our pastor and the congregation to move to the Religious Education foyer (downstairs) for the Liturgy of the Word to hear the Sunday Mass readings and Gospel presented at a child's level to better understand and appreciate The Word of God.
After our children hear The Word of God and attentively strive to appreciate the gospel message, we together pray for others (Prayer of the Faithful) and sing a Children's Creed. Children may also pick up a child/family leaflet suggesting activities focusing on the Gospel and Saints for the upcoming week. The children then move upstairs to quietly rejoin their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
* We officially invite children ages 6 through 12. All of our children are invited to be courteous and engaged. Younger children are reminded they need to act as attentively as if they are at least 6 years old - we've had children as young as two with the help of siblings and parents.
Children 11, 12 + generally grow to appreciate staying with the adult congregation; some choose to join us to help with our younger children.
