Greeter/Ushers

The Greeter/Usher at Prince of Peace, is our welcome to those who come to attend Mass with us each weekend, whether long-time parishioner or first time visitor.

The Greeter/Ushers make everyone feel welcomed so that each of us may feel especially blessed as we come to  celebrate the Liturgy with the parish family.  The role of the Greeters/Ushers is to foster a deeper sense of community within the Church.

Greeter/Ushers assist at the weekend Liturgies by helping with seating, handling the collection, arranging for volunteers to carry up the gifts to the Altar, directing communicants to the Sanctuary, rendering assistance in the case of illness, and distributing the parish bulletins. 

The Greeter/Ushers should:

• arrive 15 - 20 minutes before the beginning of Mass,

• be familiar with the location of restrooms, along with the wheelchair, assisted hearing devices, and other vital aids the parish provides,

• remember that greeting our parishioners and visitors is an important ministry - not just a job or a task, so don't forget the smile, the kind word, and gentle handshake.
