Dear all,

As you likely know, the governor has issued public orders concerning renewed masks mandates.  Please begin to observe those instructions beginning Friday, August 20—the effective date of the order.  

In particular:  masks to be worn be worn by all in all Masses/gatherings as we observed earlier in the pandemic, excepting 1) celebrant; 2) lectors while reading; 3) single cantor while singing; pastors may enact more stringent requirements should they deem necessary.  Social distancing is highly encouraged.  Also, please continue Mass streaming to the best of your ability for those who may not be able to attend due to vulnerability or trepidation; the current weekly Mass attendance dispensation remains in effect.

School officials also take note of the requirements in the health order to ensure compliance.

Attached is both the current health order and a document outlining general containment policies for your convenience.  Also, here is a LINK to the NM DOH for a more readable explanation of the severity of the current COVID situation.  Also, here is a LINK to COVID Safe Practices document often referred to in health orders.

Obviously, restrictions may increase/decrease according to the situation.  Perhaps if all cooperate, we can minimize the duration of this surge with the fewest restrictions possible.  While many feel that wearing masks and restrictions are an annoyance, annoyance is better than hospitalizations and funerals.  Include in your prayers all who have already been infected and are struggling.
